#Lovelife…our stories from Denmark broadcasted around the Globe. Now during corona. We follow normal people doing new things.
Drive-in concerts are a big thing now in the world – but we spoke to the musician, who performed the world’s first drive-in concert on April 24th 2020, where the music was transmitted directly into the cars parked at the event, via a dedicated frequency.
Award-winning musician, Mads Langer, was on his European tour when the coronavirus broke out. His drive-in concert in Aarhus brought the Danish artist, famed for his intimate music style and engagement with the audience, international attention.
The concert had room for over 500 cars with 4 people in each car and had an audience of around 2000 people. The audience was given access to a web-meeting (Zoom), so that they could get up close to Mads on stage. It also meant that Mads had some faces to perform to. Though he says it felt like he was performing to 4 people, not the thousands that attended.
The Zoom link up provided a unique opportunity for Mads to ask the audience questions, on everything from the coronavirus to how his music had helped develop people’s romances. One fan was even invited on stage to perform a socially distanced dance she had choreographed to his music.
