Prelude
Call to Worship
One: We are called into community with you, O God,
All: in the still speaking voice of you, our maker.
One: We are called into community with each other, O God,
All: you are our shared connection, the tie that binds us all .
One: Let us praise you, O God, with our voices and our hearts.
All: Let us all sing for joy as we praise God together.

Hymn: “ The Church’s One Foundation ” (black hymnal #386)
1 The church’s one foundation
is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
she is his new creation
by water and the Word:
from heav’n he came and sought her
to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he bought her,
and for her life he died.
2 Elect from ev’ry nation,
yet one o’er all the earth,
her charter of salvation
one Lord, one faith, one birth;
one holy name she blesses,
partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses,
with ev’ry grace endued.
3 Though with a scornful wonder
men see her sore oppressed,
by schisms rent asunder,
by heresies distressed,
yet saints their watch are keeping,
their cry goes up, “How long?”
And soon the night of weeping
shall be the morn of song.

Invocation (in unison)
Compassionate One, Lover-of-Goodness, draw near to us. Surround us with confidence in your good news: that you love us endlessly, that your mercy is boundless and generous, and that you beckon us always as we find our way to you. Amen.

Confession (in unison)
Loving God, Open our hearts to receive your compassion; and then show us how to forgive, So that we may be vessels of resurrection hope in our troubled world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon (in unison)
Holy One, You call us into this ever expanding dance of grace; Turning “seventy times seven” is not too much when we follow your lead into a future of hope and peace. Glory be to the One who,
working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Amen.
