“..Because the sound of rain needs no translation” Morimoto in conversation with Alan Watts regarding translating Zen books into other languages. Just like the sound of rain, universal truths can be found everywhere in any language.

Dance is universal in its existence and unique to individuals in their discovery, process and delivery of expressing one’s inner world to the outer world without the need for translation into another language in order for it to be understood and accepted.

This work explores and responds to the acceptance, understanding, revelation and delight in Rain. How it descends and nourishes our earth as well as moves into and within our own bodies, inviting and welcoming the sense and action of flow. Rain, a universal force accepted and felt by all on earth in their own way.

“Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness” Lao Tzu.

It is the dance between our inner nature and the nature that surrounds us. A woman’s power lies in her softness.
