Exploring cultures through dance.
The Nutcracker is a famous production performed by ballet companies around the world. Its festive storyline, dance artistry, choreography, music and The popular and much-loved ballet, The Nutcracker, transports audiences around the world. In this workshop students will learn two sections of adapted repertoire from Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker to experience cultural dance and how the elements of dance are used to define this.
Online school workshops are an accessible and affordable offering for schools/kindergartens that provides students with a unique and valuable opportunity to engage with ballet. Once purchased the workshop/s are available for 3 months unlimited use, enabling schools to deliver the workshop package over multiple lessons for as many students and/or class groups as possible. The workshops are specially created to facilitate an in-depth learning experience that links to outcomes in the Australian Curriculum Dance Subject and cross-subject areas.
All repertoire and contextual information is adapted and tailored to accommodate the diverse learning needs and experience levels of students in different year levels.
QB’s online school workshops contain three parts:
Workshop video/s – this is a 30 – 45min instructional video led by QB Education Teaching Artists, available for 3 months unlimited use on vimeo . Each video includes practical exercises, analysis and discussion activities.
Pre and post workshop resources – this document will be emailed within 3 working days from the purchase date and provides teachers with suggested pre and post workshop activities to enhance student engagement and understanding.
