Landscape Performance No. 1 (Tucson, AZ) is a four-hour, site-specific, live-stream performance that treats choreography as a form of speculative ecology, as the body of a dancer is viewed as just one of many living elements existing in the natural landscape.
Streamed live onsite from Tucson, AZ, this project replaces the interiority of the theater, the dance studio, and the recital hall with the expansive topography of the Arizona desert.
Viewers are invited to tune into the live feed of the work for as long as they would like. Meanwhile, a playlist of diverse musical accompaniment is provided for the audience to curate distinctive listening experiences that track with their individual interpretations of the work.
Collaboration by
Kenneth Collins, Angelica DeLashmette Hurst, and Matt Mason, performance and movement concepts by Angelica DeLashmette Hurst.
