Left to explore our autonomy in a time void of external stimuli, we navigate through emotions of fear and longing. “Distance” encompasses our ability to confront these questions during this time: why we are who we are, and where we’re headed.
In those moments of quiet, our minds have been left to delve into the far reaching corners of our psyche, we are left with a lingering question: How much of our personal identity is shaped by the external world?
With SEEflêHX’s unique take on dance and movement, we are shown a journey into pure self-exploration, a call for hope; and the realities of facing isolation and uncertainty. The composition by Vicmari and Luis 93 highlights our battle with this non-living entity. Sounds of distress from an arpeggiated synthesiser provide the dystopian tone of navigating uncharted territory. Jazz-inspired melodies humanise the piece, alluding to the complex human experiences this period has imposed on us.
