Written, Choreographed, directed b Titus Fotso
Associate choreographer: Titus Fotso
Event’s Premiere: January 2021
Location: The WACO Theater, in North Hollywood.
Today’s generation, Increasingly more numerous and international in its scope than in the past is always looking for new ways to enrich and renew itself by exploring the multicultural mosaic that comprises the modern city.
Had there not be these constant incursions from other cultures of new styles and techniques, the American dance and music world would not have been revolutionized as it has by Tap, Jazz, Modern, Interpretive, Hip Hop, Reggae, etc. Although traditional classical dance and music will always exist, these outside influences evolve and create new art/dance forms that enrich the current culture. This is the goal and purpose of the AFREEKA DANCE REVOLUTION PROJECT: to re-introduce American and the World audience to African traditional and contemporary dance, music, and African Ballet, that will hopefully encourage them to expand their horizons.
